Tendon interposition CMC joint arthroplasty using either the FCR or PL tendon. Performed in cases of CMC joint OA.

I feel that this is an arthroplasty of the CMC joint. That wad in the circle is the trapezium. The surgeon will normall take half of the FCR (split it) and fold it in the open space. Acts like a cusion. This is a salvage proceedure so the arthrits must have been really bad. FYI, If the Radial carpal joint is arthritic this procedurre is not recommended.
